PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society, or PAWS, was impacted by the deadly parking garage collapse in the city's Grays Ferry section.
The animal shelter is located right next door and was instructed by city officials to quickly evacuate all animals due to concerns about the garage's instability.

Staff and volunteers quickly mobilized and worked through the night to transport dozens of dogs and cats to safety.
Those animals are now at PAWS' Old City Adoption Center at 2nd and Arch streets.
The shelter is now urging the public to adopt by offering name-your-fee adoptions through Sunday, April 12, to help give the displaced animals a safe and loving home.
